Understanding the Environmental Crisis

A serious environmental crisis has emerged because the harmful effects of pollution have become so severe that, according to scientific studies, they cannot be changed. Pollution happens when gases, smoke, and chemicals enter the environment in large amounts, making it harmful for plants, animals, and humans.

Ethics involves the ability to decide between right and wrong in human conduct to ensure a society where everyone feels safe and respected. It is generally consistent across a whole society and serves as a standard for acceptable behavior. Values, on the other hand, are the personal beliefs that guide or motivate our attitudes and actions. They define an individual's "character" and determine how they think, feel, and behave at home, at work, and in society.

Constitutional values and citizenship form the foundation of how individuals behave and interact within Indian society, guided by the laws and ethical principles of the country.

Ethics, Values, and the Pillars of Character

Ethics involves deciding between right and wrong to ensure a society where everyone feels safe and respected. While values are personal beliefs that guide actions, the six basic values of India (such as the rights to equality and freedom) help define our collective character.

The Constitution of India (Bhartiya Samvidhan) is described as a "rule book" consisting of the laws and rules that define the rights and duties of its citizens. It is the longest written constitution in the world, and the team that wrote it was chaired by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
